Apparently it’s a common issue with WD drives, jumper settings are fussy. Had another problem, using a Hercules ATI vid card, loaded latest 4. I tried taking the jumper off with no luck. No, create an account now. When i first got my Sata drive a few years back i did have trouble then with installing and stability issues while using the sata as a master, i think at the time it was becuase the abit kv7 motherboard was one fo the first to support a sata drive as master and it turned out that their were some teething trouble.

I’m still getting that Sata RAID controller error window pop up at boot, still can’t set Monitor refresh rate, and I seem also to be having a prob with high temps.
Everything else, including the Raptors, have an interface chip. I did manage to install windows on my SATA drive while it was attached xbit the on board SATA controller although it only lasted about 5 reboots then i couldn’t load windows as it was saying it could pick up the SATA drive at boot up. Is the rive flagged as bootable in the BIOS?

Optical Abir continues to show CD I’m really at a loss here, any ideas? Log in or Sign up. In fact it was to do with the HDD jumper settings. A recent quote from Tom’s hardware stated that only the Seagate And it is 60Hz, I can tell by looking at it. Which makes me, er, pleased.
I’m really at a vk7 here, any ideas? Broke it into 2 partitions 40 gig each.

Hopefully Mandrake will be used more than Win Will report back progress I will try aata more jumper settings. Trouble is, I don’t seem to have that option, it just isn’t there.
